The Australian Fisheries Management Authority makes this determination under subsection 17(6)(aa) of the Fisheries Management Act 1991 and subsection 11(1) of the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005.

1              Name of determination
                This determination is the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Total Allowable Effort Determination 2006.
2              Commencement
                This determination commences on the day after it is registered.
3              Definitions
                A term used in this determination and in the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005 has the same meaning in this determination as in the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005.                                          
Note 1   Unless otherwise stated, a term used in this determination and in the Fisheries Management Act 1991 has the same meaning in this determination as in the Fisheries Management Act 1991.
4.             Determination of total allowable effort
                The total allowable effort for the fishery for the 2007 fishing year is 800 standard squid jigging machines.
