I, PHILIP MICHAEL JEFFERY, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Fisheries Management Act 1991. 1              Name of Regulations                 These Regulations are the Fisheries Management (Southern Squid Jig Fishery) Regulations 2006.
2              Commencement                 These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.
3              Interpretation          (1)   In these Regulations: Act means the Fisheries Management Act 1991. Management Plan means the Southern Squid Jig Fishery Management Plan 2005.          (2)   An expression used in these Regulations and in the Management Plan has the same meaning in these Regulations as it has in the Management Plan. Note   The following terms are defined in section 3 of the Management Plan: ·      gear SFR ·      nominated boat.
4              Details of nominated boat to be entered in Register                 For paragraph 45 (1) (f) of the Act, AFMA must enter in the Register the following details in relation to a nominated boat for a gear SFR:                 (a)    the name of the boat;                (b)    if AFMA, or a State or Territory authority, issues a distinguishing symbol for the boat — a description or representation of the symbol.
