Amendment of the List of Migratory Species
 
 
 
I, MALCOLM BLIGH TURNBULL, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, pursuant to subsection 209(1)(b) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, amend the list of migratory species to include all species required to be included under paragraph 209(3)(a) of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, following inclusion in the appendices of the Convention of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (‘Bonn Convention’) of:
 
Basking shark                           Cetorhinus maximus
 
This instrument will commence on the day after the date on which it was registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
