AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE
On the effective date specified below, and for the reasons set out in the background section, the CASA delegate whose signature appears below revokes Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/SC7/13 Amdt 5 and issues the following AD under subregulation 39.001(1) of CASR 1998.  The AD requires that the action set out in the requirement section (being action that the delegate considers necessary to correct the unsafe condition) be taken in relation to the aircraft or aeronautical product mentioned in the applicability section: (a) in the circumstances mentioned in the requirement section; and (b) in accordance with the instructions set out in the requirement section; and (c) at the time mentioned in the compliance section.

Applicability:
All Model SC7 Skyvan Series 3, 3A, and 3M aircraft, except serial numbers SH 1845, SH 1847, SH 1883, SH 1889, SH 1943, and SH 1960.

Requirement:
Action in accordance with the requirements of EASA AD 2007-0013.
Note:  Shorts Service Bulletin 51-51 Revision 8, or later EASA approved revision, refers.

Compliance:
As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of 15 March 2007.  For the starboard flap operating levers, part number SC7-45-1766:  From the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive, establish the life history status.  Where the life is found to be unknown, or above the life limit specified in SB 51-51 Revision 8, or later EASA approved revision; affected parts must be replaced within 3 months after the effective date of this Airworthiness Directive.

 
This Amendment becomes effective on 15 March 2007.

Background:
This Airworthiness Directive requires certain actions to extend the aircraft service life.
Amendment 4 introduced Revision 7 of the Requirement document, which changed applicability and clarified actions required on accomplishment of SB 57-59 re. “Special Inspections” additional actions.
Amendment 5 was prompted by the omission of the starboard flap operating lever part number SC7-45-1766 from Revision 7 of the Requirement document.  Revision 8 corrected this anomaly.

 
 
 
 
 
 
Amendment 6 is issued in response to a new EASA AD, which introduces additional information and clarifies requirements.
