1              Name of Determination
                This Determination is the Quarantine Service Fees Amendment Determination 2008 (No. 3).
2              Commencement
                This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.
3              Amendment of Quarantine Service Fees Determination 2005
                Schedule 1 amends the Quarantine Service Fees Determination 2005.
4              Transitional
                The amendments made by Schedule 1 apply in relation to anything done on or after the day on which those amendments take effect.

(section 3)
  
[1]           Section 5, after definition of standard goods
insert
thoroughbred stallion means a stallion that:
                (a)    is qualified to be, or is, recorded as a thoroughbred in the Australian Stud Book (which is the organisation so called the proprietors of which are Australian Jockey Club Limited and Victoria Racing Club Limited); or
               (b)    is qualified to be, or is, recorded as a thoroughbred in a stud book approved by the International Stud Book Committee.

substitute
 
   (b)  a thoroughbred stallion the import permit for which provides that the stallion is to remain in Australia for a continuous period of no longer than 6 months (care and maintenance, including feed and veterinary supplies, are to be provided by the importer)
$165 a day

 
(ba)  equine animals other than a thoroughbred stallion mentioned in paragraph (b) of this item (care and maintenance, including feed and veterinary supplies, are to be provided by the importer)
$65 a day for each animal
