Determination 2008/16:  
Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office
(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(1), 7(3) and 7(4) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.
 
(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.
 
PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES
 
1.1       In this part, Determination Number 7 of 2008 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
 
1.2       Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the following entry: “NHMRC – Expert Advisory Group on Antimicrobial Resistance”.
 
1.3             Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing the entry for “Veterans’ Review Board (Senior Member; Member)” with the following entry, and placing it after the entry for the “Australian Families and Children Council”:

2.5         Table 3A of Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing all references to “$28,600” in Column 3 with “$32,780” and all references to “$25,000” or “$25,500” in Column 3 with “$28,500”.  In addition, “3.1.5” is inserted in Column 4 against the entry for Ms S Court.
 
2.6         Clause 2.5 has effect on and from 1 July 2008.
 
2.7     Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for the “Registrar, Administrative Appeals Tribunal”:

PART 3 – MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT
 
 
3.1      In this part, Determination Number 15 of 2008 is referred to as the Principal     Determination.
 
3.2     Clause 1.3 of the Principal Determination is amended by replacing "Government           Whip in the Senate" with "principal Government Whip in the Senate" and replacing   "Opposition Whip in the Senate" with "principal Opposition Whip in the Senate".
 
3.3     Clause 2.1 (a) of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the following:      "Chief Government Whip in the House of Representatives, Chief Opposition Whip in   the House of Representatives, Government Whip in the Senate, Opposition Whip in      the Senate".
 
3.4     Clauses 3.2 and 3.3 have effect on and from 31 August 2008.
