Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 61/02 – Vehicle Markings) 2005 Amendment 1
I, ANTHONY NORMAN ALBANESE, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, determine this vehicle standard under subsection 7 (1) of the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989.

1.1.                                    Name of Legislative Instrument
1.1.1.                              This instrument is the Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 61/02 – Vehicle Markings) 2005 Amendment 1.
1.2.                                    Commencement
1.2.1.                              This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.
2.                                          amendment of vehicle standard
2.1.                                    The changes specified in Schedule 1 amend Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 61/02 – Vehicle Markings) 2005.
 
 
Schedule 1
[1]               Delete clauses 1.3, 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
[2]               Clause 8.1.6  amend to read and insert footnote  “In case of TC and TD trailers designed for use in ‘B-Doubles’ and fitted with ‘Antilock Systems’ complying with ADR 38/...1/ the words “THIS VEHICLE IS FITTED WITH ANTILOCK BRAKES COMPLYING WITH ADR 38/...".
Footnote; 1/ Denotes the version of ADR 38 in force at the ‘Date of Manufacture’ of the trailer.”
[3]               Clause 9.1.1 amend to read  “All Vehicles other than L-Group Vehicles and TA category trailers having an overall width not exceeding 980 mm:”
[4]               Clause 9.1.2 amend to read  “For L-Group Vehicles and TA category trailers having an overall width not exceeding 980 mm:”
[5]               Clause 9.2.1 amend to read  “All vehicles, other than L-Group vehicles and TA category trailers having an overall width not exceeding 980 mm, which have no windscreen, must have a holder for the registration label affixed to their left-hand side in such a position as to be clearly visible to a person facing the holder at a distance of 6 metres.”
[6]               Clause 9.2.2 amend to read  “For L-Group vehicles and TA category trailers having an overall width not exceeding 980 mm, a holder for the registration label must be affixed in a conspicuous position on the vehicle.”
[7]               Clause 10. amend text to read  “On every vehicle which, together with the ‘Equipment’ thereof, is 2.2 metres or more wide and which has a body of the tray type and does not have conspicuity markings (refer to ADR 13/00 paragraph 6.21 of Appendix A), there must be displayed by painting or otherwise across the full width of the rearmost portion of the tray of such vehicle, a horizontal band having a uniform depth of at least 75 mm and being white or silver in colour and clearly visible.
