Determination 2009/08:
Remuneration and Allowances for Holders of Public Office and Members of Parliament - Entitlements
 
(i)        Pursuant to subsections 7(1), 7(3), 7(4) and 7(4B) of the Remuneration Tribunal Act 1973, the Remuneration Tribunal has inquired into the remuneration and allowances to be paid to holders of public office, and other matters significantly related thereto, and determines as set out below.
 
(ii)        This Determination takes effect on and from the day following the day it is registered in the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments unless otherwise specified.
 
PART 1 – PART-TIME OFFICES
 
1.1       In this part, Determination Number 7 of 2008 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
 
1.2         Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entries for the following bodies: “Office of Asset Sales Selection Panels”, “Australian Hearing Services Advisory Committee” and “Australian Safety and Compensation Council”.
 
1.3         Table A1A of Schedule A of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting the following entry after the entry for “Teaching Australia – Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership”:

2.4         Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting Clause 2.11 after Clause 2.10 as follows: “2.11 Fair Work Australia: Where an appointee as Deputy President or Commissioner of Fair Work Australia is a Judge, the comparative salary for the purposes of s.637(6) of the Fair Work Act 2009 is the amount in Column 2.”
 
2.5         Clauses 2.2 to 2.4 have effect on and from 1 July 2009.
 
2.6         Table 2A of Part 2 of the Principal Determination is amended by deleting the entry for the “Chairman, Indigenous Business Australia”.
 
2.7         Clause 2.6 has effect on and from 1 July 2009.
 
PART 3 – MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT - ENTITLEMENTS
 
3.1       In this part, Determination Number 18 of 2006 (as amended) is referred to as the Principal Determination.
 
3.2             The Principal Determination is amended by deleting Clause 10.3 and its heading “Telephone Services Charge Card”.
 
3.3             Clause 3.2 has effect on and from 1 July 2009.
 
PART 4 – JUDICIAL AND RELATED OFFICES
 
4.1       In this part, Determination Number 9 of 2008 is referred to as the Principal Determination.
 
4.2       Part 3 of the Principal Determination is amended by inserting Clause 3.4 after Clause 3.3 as follows: “3.4 President, Fair Work Australia: the President has the same travel entitlements when travelling within Australia as the Chief Justice of the Federal Court.”
 
4.3       Clause 4.2 has effect on and from 1 July 2009.
