I, NICOLA ROXON, the Minister for Health and Ageing, make this instrument under subitem 12A(12) of Schedule 1 to the Health Insurance Amendment (Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation) Act 2007.

1 Name of instrument
This instrument is the Health Insurance (Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation – Designated Persons) Instrument 2010.
2 Purpose of instrument
The purpose of this instrument is to designate persons to receive notices that are to be lodged by proprietors of diagnostic imaging practices seeking deemed accreditation.
3 Commencement
This instrument commences immediately after the commencement of Schedule 1 to the Health Insurance Amendment (Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation) Act 2010.
4 Interpretation
(1) An expression used in this instrument has the same meaning as in the Act.
(2) In this instrument:
Act means the Health Insurance Act 1973.
amending Act means the Health Insurance Amendment (Diagnostic Imaging Accreditation) Act 2007.
diagnostic imaging practice means diagnostic imaging premises or a base for mobile diagnostic imaging equipment.
Note 1 Unless a contrary intention appears, an expression used in this instrument has the same meaning as in the amending Act — see section 13 of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003.
Note 2 Terms defined in subsection 3(1) of the Act and which are used in this instrument include base for mobile diagnostic imaging equipment, diagnostic imaging premises and proprietor.
Note 3 Terms defined in item 12A of Schedule 1 to the amending Act and which are used in this instrument include deemed accreditation.
5 Designation of persons for the purposes of deemed accreditation
For the purposes of subitem 12A(12) of Schedule 1 to the amending Act the designated persons with whom notices under subitem 12A(4) of Schedule 1 to the amending Act are to be lodged are:
(a) Health and Disability Auditing Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 134 482 625);
(b) National Association of Testing Authorities Australia (ACN 004 379 748); and
(c) Quality in Practice Pty Ltd (ACN 094 965 590).
