The AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA AUTHORITY makes this Determination under subsection 138(1) of the Commercial Television Conversion Scheme 1999.

1              Name of Determination
                This Determination is the Digital Television Commencement Date (Remote Central and Eastern Australia Licence Areas) Determination 2011.
2              Commencement
                This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.
3              Definitions
                In this Determination:
                Act means the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
                commercial television broadcasting licence has the same meaning as in section 6 of the Act.
                commercial television broadcasting service has the same meaning as in section 6 of the Act.
                holder means a holder of a commercial television broadcasting licence. 
                Mt Isa TV1 licence area has the same meaning as in the Licence Area Plan –Remote Central & Eastern Australia Television – December 1996.

                Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV1 licence area has the same meaning as in the Licence Area Plan –Remote Central & Eastern Australia Television – December 1996.

                Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV2 licence area has the same meaning as in the Licence Area Plan –Remote Central & Eastern Australia Television – December 1996.

                SDTV digital mode has the same meaning as in clause 4B of Schedule 4 to the Act.
                       
4              Determination – subsection 138 (1) of the Commercial Television Conversion Scheme 1999
         (1)   The date determined to be the date by which each holder for each licence area specified in subsection (2) is required to commence transmitting the commercial television broadcasting service concerned in SDTV digital mode is 2 May 2011.
         (2)   The licence areas are:
  (a)    Mt Isa TV1 licence area;
  (b)    Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV1 licence area;
  (c)    Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV2 licence area.
