I, QUENTIN BRYCE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following regulation under the Crimes (Overseas) Act 1964.

1 Name of regulation
This regulation is the Crimes (Overseas) (Declared Foreign Countries) Amendment Regulation 2012 (No. 1).
2 Commencement
This regulation commences on the day after it is registered.
3 Amendment of Crimes (Overseas) (Declared Foreign Countries) Regulations 2003
Schedule 1 amends the Crimes (Overseas) (Declared Foreign Countries) Regulations 2003.

(section 3)
[1] After regulation 7
insert
8 Nauru
(1) For paragraph 3C (1) (a) of the Act, Nauru is a declared foreign country for the purposes of the Act.
(2) For subsection 3C (3) of the Act:
(a) Nauru is to start being a declared foreign country for the purposes of the Act on 10 December 2012; and
(b) Nauru is to cease being a declared foreign country for the purposes of the Act on 9 December 2017.
