The Authority Division for Switchover and Planning, a delegate of the AUSTRALIAN COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA AUTHORITY hereby makes this determination under paragraph 139(3)(b) of the Commercial Television Conversion Scheme 1999.

1                   Name of Instrument
This instrument is the Broadcasting Services (Simulcast Period End Date – Remote Licence Areas) Determination 2012.
2                   Commencement
This instrument commences the day after it is registered.

3              Definitions
                In this Determination:
ACMA means the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
Geraldton TV1 licence area means the Geraldton TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Western Australia licence area plan.
Kalgoorlie TV1 licence area means the Kalgoorlie TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Western Australia licence area plan.
Mt Isa TV1 licence area means the Mt Isa TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Central and Eastern Australia licence area plan.
Remote and Regional Western Australia TV1 licence area means the Remote and Regional Western Australia TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Western Australia licence area plan.
Remote Central and Eastern Australia licence area plan means the Licence Area Plan – Remote Central and Eastern Australia Television – December 1996, as varied from time to time.
Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV1 licence area means the Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Central and Eastern Australia licence area plan.
Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV2 licence area means the Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV2 licence area as determined in the Remote Central and Eastern Australia licence area plan.
Remote Western Australia licence area plan means the Licence Area Plan – Remote and Regional Western Australia (Television) – February 1997, as varied from time to time.
simulcast period has the meaning given to it by section 130 of the Commercial Television Conversion Scheme.
South West and Great Southern TV1 licence area means the South West and Great Southern TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Western Australia licence area plan.
Western Zone TV1 licence area means the Western Zone TV1 licence area as determined in the Remote Western Australia licence area plan.
4              Determination of simulcast end date for Remote Western Australia television licence areas
                The simulcast period for each of:
(a)    Geraldton TV1 licence area;
(b)   Kalgoorlie TV1 licence area;
(c)    Remote and Regional Western Australia TV1 licence area;
(d)   South West and Great Southern TV1 licence area; and
(e)    Western Zone TV1 licence area;
                ends on 25 June 2013.
5              Determination of simulcast end date for Remote Central and Eastern Australia television licence areas
                The simulcast period for each of:
(a)      Mt Isa TV1 licence area;
(b)      Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV1 licence area; and
(c)      Remote Central and Eastern Australia TV2 licence area;
ends on 10 December 2013.
