Compliance:
As specified in the Requirement document, with a revised effective date of
16 April 2012

This Amendment becomes effective on 16 April 2012.

Background:
The FAA received reports of in-flight departure and separation of certain flight deck windows.  This Directive requires inspections to detect and correct cracking in the vinyl interlayer or damage to the structural inner glass panes of flight deck windows No. 2, No. 4, and No.5.  Such cracking and damage could result in loss of a window and rapid loss of cabin pressure.
Amendment 1 notates the acceptability of an FAA approved AMOC for compliance with the equivalent requirements of this AD.
The original issue of this Airworthiness Directive became effective on 31 July 2008.
