I, Carol Nicoll, Chief Commissioner of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency, make these Guidelines under section 204 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011.

1          Name of Guidelines
 
These Guidelines are the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (Information) Guidelines 2013.
 
 
2          Commencement
 
These Guidelines commence on the date after they are registered on the Federal Register of Legislative Instruments.
 
 
3          Objects
 
(a)    These Guidelines set out the Commonwealth authorities and the State or Territory authorities that the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) may disclose higher education information to under section 189 of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011 (TEQSA Act).
 
(b)   These Guidelines also set out the Commonwealth authorities and the State or Territory authorities that TEQSA may disclose higher education information to under section 194 of the TEQSA Act.
4          Interpretation
 
In these Guidelines:
 
 
Act means the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency Act 2011.
 
Commonwealth authority has the same meaning as it has in the Act.
 
Higher education information has the same meaning as it has in the Act.
 
State or Territory authority has the same meaning as it has in the Act.
 
Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency or TEQSA has the same meaning as in the Act.
 
5          Disclosing higher education information
The authorities to which TEQSA may disclose higher education information under sections 189 and 194 of the TEQSA Act can be found in Schedule A.
