Exemption — crew member proficiency for emergency procedures (Virgin Australia International Airlines)
1          Duration
                 This instrument:
(a)   commences on the day of registration; and
(b)   expires at the end of September 2017, as if it had been repealed by another instrument.
2          Application
                 This instrument applies to each operating crew member of Virgin Australia International Airlines Pty Ltd, Aviation Reference Number 768593 (the operator), who has transitioned or will be transitioning to the operator from Virgin Australia New Zealand (VANZ).
3          Exemption
            The operating crew member is exempt from complying with paragraphs 12.1 and 12.3 of Civil Aviation Order (CAO) 20.11, but only in relation to the testing of emergency procedures for the flight deck window, the slide jump and the initial wet drill in accordance with Appendix IV of CAO 20.11.
4          Conditions
            The exemption is subject to the conditions set out in Schedule 1.
Schedule 1          Conditions
        1     Each operating crew member must, upon CASA’s request, produce documentation from VANZ demonstrating satisfactory completion of the following emergency procedures:
(a)   the flight deck window;
(b)   the slide jump;
(c)   the initial wet drill.
        2     Each operating crew member is required to operate on the same aircraft type that he or she was operating on before his or her transition from VANZ.
