1  Name of determination
                   This determination is the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation (Non‑warlike Service) Determination 2014 (No. 1).
2  Commencement
                   This determination commences on 1 July 2014.
3  Authority
                   This determination is made under paragraph 6(1)(b) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004.
4  Schedule(s)
                   Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
5  Definitions
                   In this determination:
Act means the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004.
ADF means the Australian Defence Force.
NATO means the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
6  Non‑warlike service
                   Schedule 1 specifies service that is non‑warlike service for the purposes of the Act.

1  Non‑warlike service
                   For paragraph 6(1)(b) of the Act, service in an operation mentioned in an item of the following table is non‑warlike service for the purposes of the Act if the service:
                     (a)  is in an area of operation mentioned in that item; and
                     (b)  occurs during a period mentioned in that item.
