AN ACT to amend the Interpretation Act Cap. 224.

[ 28th December, 2000 ]

ENACTED by the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda as
follows -

1. This Act may be cited as the Interpretation (Amendment) Short title
Act 2000.

2. The Interpretation Act Cap. 224 is amended in section 56 ~ ~ f i ~ i ~ i ~ ~ for
by inserting the following definitions in their appropriate alpha- judicial purposes

section 56.

"action" includes a claim as defined in the Eastern Carib-
bean Supreme Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2000;

"Master" means a Master of the Eastern Caribbean Su-
preme Court;

"Originating motion" Qr "originating summons" includes
a fixed date claim as defined in the Eastern Caribbean
Supreme Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2000;

"plaintiff' includes a claimant as defined in the Eastern
Caribbean Supreme Court Civil Procedure Rules 2000;

"writ of summons" "writ of summons indorsed with a state-
ment of claim" or "specially endorsed writ" includes a
claim form as defined in the Eastern Caribbean Supreme
Court Civil Procedure Rules, 2000.
