THE HUGH BURROWES (VALIDATION OF
APPOINTMENTS) ACT

HUGH BURROWES (VALIDATION OF
APPOINTMENTS)

(18th February, 1963.) 311963.

WHEREAS doubts have arisen as to the validity of the
appointments dated respectively the 8th day of August 1959
and the 9th day of October 1959 of Hugh Burrowes to be,
and to act as, a magistrate in and for Magisterial Districts
A and B (Antigua and Barbuda):

AND WHEREAS it is desirable to remove such doubts:

1. This Act may be cited as the Hugh Burrowes Short title.
(Validation of Appointments) Act.

2. It is hereby declared that the appointments dated Validation of
respectively the 8th day of August 1959 and the 9th day of
October 1959 of Hugh Burrowes-

(a) to be a magistrate, and

(6 ) to act as a magistrate

LAWS OF ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

2 CAP. 207) Hugh Burrowes (Validation of
Appointments)

in and for the Magisterial Districts A and B (Antigua and
Barbuda) made by the Administrator in purported exercise
of the power and authority vested in him by sections 5 and
11 respectively of the Magistrate's Code of Procedure Act
shall be deemed to have been validly made in accordance
with the provisions of those sections, and accordingly all
things done or purported to be done after the 7th day of
August 1959, and before the 1st day of January 1960, by
the said Hugh Burrowes in performance of the functions of
the office of magistrate or, as the case may be, acting
magistrate, shall for the purposes of that Act be, and be
deemed always to have been, validly and effectively done.
