ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

No. 20 of 1993

An Act to amend the Civil Aviation Act, 1991 (No. 14 of 1991).

[ 10th June, 1993. 1

ENACTED by the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda as
follows -

1. This Act rnay be cited as the Civil Aviation (Amendment) short title.
Act, 1993.

2. Section 30 of the Civil Aviation Act, in this Act referred to Amendment of
as the principal Act is amended by inserting after the word "Part" section 30 of Act
the following - No. 14 of 1991.

"or any regulations made thereunder"

3. Section 3 1 of the principal Act is repealed and replaced by Amendment of
the following - section 3 1.

"3 1 (1) Subject to regulations made under section 3 and
this section, the management and control of all airports as
may be designated by notice published in the Gazette are
hereby vested in the Minister.

(2) For the purposes of this section the Minister may
make regulations -

(a) designating aiy area within an airport as a car
pxk;

(b) controlling the parkiig of motor vehicles at
airports;

(c) controlling, restricting or prohibiting vehicu-
lar traffic on roadways, car parks or any part of
airports;

(d) imrnobilising and removing vehicles which
are parked without authority in places not
permitted for the parking of vehicles;

(e) prescribing fees, charges for services and
facilities provided at airports;

Cf) for prohibiting, restricting or regulating the
carrying on of any trade or business within
any airport;

(g) for granting, permission to carry on any
trade or business within any airport and
attaching such condilions as he thinks fit; and

(h) for the better carrying out the provisions of this
Part.

(3) The Minister may, on the advice of the Commissioner of
Police, appoint fit and suitable persons to assist the Police in the
performance of their duties at any airport.

Amendment of 4. Section 32 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the
section 32. definition of airport and substituting the following -

"airport" means any defined area of land or water intended
or designated to be used either wholly or partly for the
landing, departure, movement and servicing of aircraft, and
any buildings, installations, equipment, road ways, car
parks and open spaces on or adjacent to any such area used
in connection with the airport or its administration."
